Meet the Cypher Scientific Executive Team:
Bob has over 30 years’ executive experience in Engineering & Operations Management, Manufacturing, and Strategic Business Successes on a global scale.
Bob began his career in Medical Equipment Manufacturing and moved on to become Technical Liaison to Japan for Toshiba America. He served as Director of Engineering and Manufacturing for a major designer and manufacturer of advanced multi-format and airborne video equipment for several years and then in the mid 90’s moved back into consumer electronics, holding Division and Business Unit Leadership positions with Tandy Corp, CompUSA and Systemax. Bob was also Vice President of Global Operations for Wyle Systems, where he was responsible for the execution of engineering and value added services in support of over $1B in sales around the world. For the past several years before founding Cypher Scientific Bob has been both an employee of and a consultant to RED Digital Cinema, first to lead their transition from engineering start-up to manufacturing and then as a New Technology Acquisition Leader.
Bob holds Business and Electrical Engineering degrees from the University of Maryland and Capital Institute of Technology. He is an ASQ trained Six Sigma Black Belt and Executive Champion. Bob is also a Commercial Pilot and has served as Hospital and Outreach Coordinator as well as a Command Pilot for Angel Flight West. In 2006 he received Angel Flight’s 1st annual “Golden Halo Award” for making a difference in the lives of people in need. Toby has over 24 years of professional and executive experience managing and directing Technical Operations in Information Technology from large organizations to entrepreneurial start-ups in Web X social networking and e-commerce, Computer Engineering and Manufacturing, and consumer electronics industries.
He has served as Chief Technology Officer for both public and private companies and has spent considerable time with key partners and suppliers in the industry and understands the current technology direction and technology platform message.
He has Implemented best practices on risk mitigation and emergency contingency in software development, ERP, MRP processes, IS departments, and all phases of operations and finance.
Toby has architected an e-commerce application to be used to process payments from online merchant shopping carts directly to the home telephone bill independent of the telephone network or telephone service provider as well as a web 2.0 social networking community platform to serve as a front end for a unique bill-to-phone payment processing.
He architected and directed his company’s Payment Card Industry PCI/DSS compliance program and maintained an internet/intranet security policy that resulted in a 0% successful attack and hacking attempt rate to corporate websites and network assets from go-live to present.
At RED Digital Cinema Toby was responsible for iOS and Android app development of highly integrated professional camera control and metadata capture systems as well as maintaining responsibility for the corporate shared services group which included regulatory & compliance, configuration and revision control, board design & Dfx, reliability and test.
Toby attended the Bachelor of Science Engineering Technology Program at Southern Polytechnic State University in Marietta, GA and continued his education and professional development at Weatherford College in Weatherford, TX studying Business Administration and Total Quality Management, but not before spending 6 years as a technology specialist in the US Army with the 82nd Airborne and jumping out of just about every conceivable type of aircraft.
Dan is a 1984 graduate of Northwestern University and a 1987 graduate of Boston University School of Law. Mr. Lincoln is an A-V rated attorney. As a litigator, he has handled matters for clients ranging from employment issues to construction defects to Commercial Code and insurance bad faith and coverage issues. Mr. Lincoln's practice also includes advising clients in areas from general business matters to real estate, employment, and transactional matters. Mr. Lincoln has acted as both buyer's counsel and as seller's counsel on a number of real estate and business sale transactions.
Scott is an Electronic/Electrical Design Engineer with over 30 years of experience in the development and test of electronic systems in the military, medical, broadcast and consumer electronics industries. Scott has worked for both large and small corporations, as well as, working as an independent consultant for himself for over 20 years, which provided him the opportunity to work on a broad spectrum of different technologies.
Scott started his career in 1984 as a Test Engineer for Emerson Electric’s Industrial Controls Division developing test strategies and methodologies for high power UPS systems. He continued working as a Test Engineer in the military microelectronic industry for Leach Corporation developing his own Stimulus/Response test system that was used on hybrid systems and ASIC devices. He began working as an independent consultant after learning the news of the pending birth of triplets in early 1990. As a consultant, he helped develop the miniaturization of a massively parallel SIMD super-computer to fit in the nose cone of a missile for Active Memory Technology. He designed some of the industry’s first PCMCIA I/O cards, for which he holds a patent, for New Media Corporation. He designed various OEM modem and I/O cards used by HP, Dell, and other Tier 1 computer companies through the 1990’s and early 2000’s. As a consultant, Scott designed a broad family of consumer level Audio/Video recorder products for ADS Technologies. In 2008, he went to work for Fast Forward Video designing HD video recorders for the Broadcast marketplace. While at FFV, he headed and delivered one of the first camera mounted ProRes HQ recorders. He was responsible for all design aspects of the recorder, as well as the Apple ProRes certification.
Scott has a wide range of experience in all facets of product development including PCB design, FPGA design, ASIC design, firmware development, agency certifications and project management. He consulted and collaborated with Cypher Scientific for over a year before joining the team on a permanent basis.
While not sitting behind the computer, Scott enjoys hiking and hanging with the family.
